World No Tobacco Day Celebration 2025

*World No Tobacco Day Celebration 2025 @ SNIMS*

1. *Banner Reveal*: The events started with the reveal of the World No Tobacco Day banner by Dr. Indira Kumari K.R., Principal, on May 29, 2025. *Dr. Thomas Jerry*, Vice Principal, and HODs of various departments , faculties were present.
2. *Awareness Talks*: Departments of Medicine and Pulmonology conducted awareness talks on May 30, 2025, highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco and ways to quit. *Dr. Baiju M Jacob*, HOD General Medicine, *Dr. Hemalatha V S*, HOD Pulmonology Department, and *Dr. Suresh P*, Professor, Medicine Department, Dr Mohammed Ameer, Dr Aneeta and Dr Athira enlightened the audience.
3. *Free Pulmonary Function Testing*: The Department of Pulmonology organized free pulmonary function testing for the first 100 registrations on May 30, 2025.
4. *Poster Making Competition*: A poster making competition was held jointly by the Departments of Pathology and Medicine.Dr. Rahul Nair, *Dr. Dileep A P , Dr Ashley George and Dr Aparna coordinated the event, while *Dr. Baiju M Jacob*, *Dr. Hemalatha*, and *Dr. Annu Elizabeth Prakash* were the judges.
5. *Social Media Campaign*: A social media campaign was conducted by the Department of Pharmacology under the  guidance of *Dr. Abhima M B*, HOD Pharmacology and Nodal Officer of SSGP.
6. *Community Awareness Programs*: The Department of Community Medicine conducted community awareness programs at UHTC and Navabharath RHTC, led by *Dr. Ajo Paul*, *Dr. Subiya* and *Dr. Ahana Salam*.
7. *Concluding Program*: The events concluded with an awareness program at Lecture Hall 3 on May 31, 2025, featuring a keynote address by Dr. Indira Kumari K.R., interactive session by *Dr. Suresh P* and *Dr. Krishnan Rajendran*, and tobacco-free pledge led by *Dr. Ann Mary Thomas*.
