    A Milestone Day for General Medicine: New Clinics and Services Dedicated to Patient Care

    The Department of General Medicine at Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences (SNIMS) proudly organized a series of inaugural functions on 02.02.2026 at 10:00 AM, marking important milestones in strengthening specialty care and patient services.

    The department extends its sincere gratitude to Lt. Gen. (Dr) Ajith Nilakantan, Executive Director, Dr. Rajesh Pai, Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Manjusha K, Deputy Medical Superintendent, for gracing the occasion and inaugurating the newly introduced facilities.

    The Rheumatology Clinic, functioning every Monday, was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. (Dr) Ajith Nilakantan along with Dr. Julie Abraham, Associate Professor, General Medicine, enhancing focused care for patients with arthritis and other autoimmune disorders.

    Further expanding preventive healthcare services, Dr. Rajesh Pai inaugurated the Diabetic Risk Profiler alongside Dr. Suresh P, Professor of Medicine and Diabetologist, by switching on the machine for commercial use effective the same day. This initiative is expected to strengthen early detection and risk assessment of diabetes among patients.In another key development, Dr. Manjusha K inaugurated the Medicine Unit–IV in the Medicine OPD in the presence of Dr. Kenny Thomas, Unit Chief (Unit IV), and Dr. Anila Jose, Senior Faculty Member, further augmenting patient care capacity and clinical services.

    The event was enriched by the esteemed presence of Dr. Deepu Dharmarajan, DM – Outreach & Development, Unit Chiefs including Dr. Jayamohan Kokkat, and faculty members of Medicine and allied specialties. The programme was also supported by the active involvement of Christus K N, DM – Operations, along with administrative staff and dedicated teams from Public Relations, IT, and Marketing.
