SNIMS Pediatrics Department Launches ‘Half Birthday Celebration’

The Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology at SNIMS in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) successfully conducted its first-ever “Half Birthday Celebration” for six-month-old infants born at the institution.

The event brought together six-month-old babies and their caregivers for comprehensive growth and developmental assessment, immunization status review, and an awareness session on complementary feeding practices was delivered by Dr Thomas Ranjit, Associate Professor, Paediatrics and Neonatologist.

The Programme was inaugurated by the Principal Prof. Dr Indirakumari K.R. The Programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr Darly Saramma Mammen, Professor & HOD Paediatrics. The event was attended by distinguished faculty members and other dignitaries from various departments including nursing and HR Department. An exhibit showcasing the seven essential food groups for complementary feeding was arranged to educate caregivers on appropriate infant nutrition. The Programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr Sreelakshmi S Kumar, Assistant Professor, Paediatrics.

The Department plans to conduct the “Half Birthday Celebration” as a monthly event to ensure continued support and guidance for infants and their families during this important stage of development.
